The ACE Reagent Kit by Trinity Biotech is designed for the kinetic determination of Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) activity in serum or plasma using the Ultraviolet Kinetic Method. The assay relies on the hydrolysis of FAPGG to FAP and Glycylglycine (GG), resulting in a decrease in absorbance at 340 nm which is directly proportional to ACE activity.
This test is clinically significant for diagnosing and monitoring active sarcoidosis. Elevated ACE levels are also observed in premature infants with respiratory distress syndrome, adults with tuberculosis, leprosy, and various lung and liver pathologies. The reagent is compatible with various automated clinical chemistry analyzers.
